To participate in our Live Online courses, you must have:

    • A computer with working speakers and microphone — a laptop or desktop computer is fine!
    • A modern operating system - MacOS 10 or higher, Windows 7 or higher, or equivalent. We recommmend you use:
      • An Apple laptop newer than 6 years old running one of the 3 most recent major releases of MacOS (currently: 10.14 (Mojave) or newer)
      • A PC laptop newer than 4 years old running Windows 10
    • A strong and consistent internet connection: at least 10Mbps download and 5Mbps upload — you can check your speeds for free here!

Machines outside these parameters may still work, but might have issues running the software and tooling needed to complete coursework. Juno will only be able to provide limited support to older computers, OS versions, and other operating systems not listed above (e.g. Linux). At this time, laptops running ChromeOS (“Chromebooks”) don’t easily run the software and tools we need for coursework at Juno, and cannot be used with our courses.

To make the most of your Live Online experience, we also recommend:

    • A working web cam (it doesn’t have to be the greatest quality)!
    • An external monitor if you're using a laptop, or a secondary monitor if you're using a desktop computer
    • A comfortable desk and chair
    • Noise-cancelling headphones
    • A positive attitude!

  • There are no instructor-led classes on Fridays. For Full-Time programs, Fridays are self-directed, meaning that we ask that all Full-Time students dedicate Fridays to practicing critical independent work skills such as reviewing class notes, working on projects, or prepping for the week ahead. This ensures that students can wrap up every week of class confidently!

  • Given the changing nature of the COVID-19 situation, we are providing updates detailing the latest public health guidance, Juno’s COVID-19 policies, and on-site learning plans here.

  • We’ll continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation during the course. If public health conditions or guidance change during the course and we’re required to cease In-Person learning, the course will switch to our time-tested Live Online format, so that you can continue your learning.

If you prefer In-Person learning, you may also choose to defer to our next In-Person course. You’ll be able to pick up where you left off, but please note that we can’t guarantee that the instructor will be the same.

If you would like a refund, our regular refund policy applies.

  • Our In-Person courses are not recorded. If you miss a class, there will be a detailed summary of what was covered posted in course Slack channel, so you’ll have the opportunity to review that material in the detailed course notes. Your instructor and mentor are also available during Mentor Hours if you have any questions about the material, and will do everything they can to help catch you up!

We also recommend using our weekly virtual Office Hours outside of class days, which are offered to help fill any gaps in your understanding of the material, whether due to missing class or just needing more time to review.

  • You’re welcome to come to our newly renovated campus starting 1 hour before class begins — your class mentors will also be available in our classroom 30 minutes before the start of class! When class ends, all students will need to leave campus.

If you’d like to work from campus more regularly, we recommend becoming a member of Coral, our inclusion-driven coworking and community space! Day passes are also available for $25/day. For those interested and eligible, we offer financial aid to cover the membership cost.
