    • If you’re exploring a web development career path, chances are you’ve heard about front-end, back-end, and full-stack development. Here's a quick breakdown of their differences:

      • Front-end developer: builds the people-facing parts of a website that users see and interact with, also known as “the client-side” of a website
      • Back-end developer: builds the host and database of a website that users cannot see, also known as “the server-side” of the website
      • Full-stack developer: has the diverse skill set of creating applications that allow for the front-end and back-end to interact seamlessly

Learn more about front-end, back-end, and full-stack development on our blog!

    • We specialize in teaching front-end development in our Bootcamp for a number of reasons:

      • Front-end development is often a better launchpad for those looking to break into tech
      • Front-end languages are guaranteed to be used at your job
      • Specializing in front-end development can give you an advantage in your job search

We want to make sure our students are ready to thrive on the job right after graduation. Our focus on front-end development brings better results for new graduates just starting out in their new careers.

Learn more about this in our blog!

    • You'll need a laptop for every class! If you are unable to provide your own, we offer a limited number of Macbooks for rent for our In-Person classes, at a rate of $100/month plus HST with a refundable security deposit of $250. Please let us know as soon as possible if you require a laptop rental.

To participate in our Live Online courses, you must have:

      • A computer with working speakers and microphone — a laptop or desktop computer is fine!
      • A modern operating system - MacOS 10 or higher, Windows 7 or higher, or equivalent. We recommmend you use:
        • An Apple laptop newer than 6 years old running one of the 3 most recent major releases of MacOS (currently: 10.14 (Mojave) or newer)
        • A PC laptop newer than 4 years old running Windows 10
      • A strong and consistent internet connection: at least 10Mbps download and 5Mbps upload — you can check your speeds for free here!

Machines outside these parameters may still work, but might have issues running the software and tooling needed to complete coursework. Juno will only be able to provide limited support to older computers, OS versions, and other operating systems not listed above (e.g. Linux). At this time, laptops running ChromeOS (“Chromebooks”) don’t easily run the software and tools we need for coursework at Juno, and cannot be used with our courses.

To make the most of your Live Online experience, we also recommend:

      • A working web cam (it doesn’t have to be the greatest quality)!
      • An external monitor if you're using a laptop, or a secondary monitor if you're using a desktop computer
      • A comfortable desk and chair
      • Noise-cancelling headphones
      • A positive attitude!
    • We have some of the best Career Services and hiring partners in the industry. When you join Juno’s Bootcamp, you’ll receive your own dedicated career coach and specific training on important topics like persuasive communication, tech challenge prep, writing an effective resume and cover letter, and more.

Plus, you’ll have access to our suite of Career Services such as resume reviews, interview practice, job referrals, and one-on-one coaching. You'll receive the guidance you need from our team and community to land your first tech job, and the lifelong support you need to grow in your new career.

      • Front-End Web Developer
      • Web Developer

      • Web Designer

Check out more popular web developer job titles and student stories on the Juno blog!

We don't provide certificates for our part-time courses, but we’re happy to provide a letter of completion — just email our Student Experience Consultant at the end of your course!

    • Unfortunately not. Due to regulations under the Private Career Colleges Act, students enrolled in our Bootcamps must attend 315 hours of class to receive their certificate, and that’s exactly how many we have planned during your time with us.

    • For those applying to our Bootcamps, you’ll receive a $1,000 Alumni Scholarship per Continuing Education course taken with us.

    • There are no instructor-led classes on Fridays. For Full-Time programs, Fridays are self-directed, meaning that we ask that all Full-Time students dedicate Fridays to practicing critical independent work skills such as reviewing class notes, working on projects, or prepping for the week ahead. This ensures that students can wrap up every week of class confidently!
