About the Position

We’re looking for instructors who are collaborative, empathetic, and passionate about teaching, to join the Juno team. We are currently offering all of our courses Live Online, and will only move back to in person learning when it's safe to do so. We anticipate having most, if not all, courses Live Online for all of 2021. In this role, you will:

  • Teach a variety of Web Development curriculum through lessons, code-alongs, and interactive exercises
  • Work directly with our students in the classroom and give project support
  • Help resolve issues and coach through code debugging and technical problem-solving
  • Provide a thoughtful, stimulating, and positive classroom experience
  • Participate in supporting student events
  • Update the curriculum notes according to our Course roadmap
  • Collaborate with the team to create and review program improvements and innovations
  • Other tasks as required

Currently, our programs are Live Online and our team is working remotely, with the option to return to our downtown Toronto campus when it is safe to do so.

About You

As a private career college, all of our instructors are required to have at least 2 years of practical, real-world experience as developers. Candidates who do not have the required experience will not be considered for this position. It would be great if you also have any experience as a teacher, instructor, or mentor, in any discipline.

Your Qualifications

  • Hold a degree, diploma, or certification an Ontario college, university, private career college, or equivalent, and
  • Have 24 months occupational web development experience

Or

  • Have 36 months of teaching web development experience, and
  • Have 24 months occupational web development experience

Or

  • Have 48 months of occupational web development experience

You could be a great fit if you:

  • Are an excellent public speaker and written communicator
  • Are collaborative, energetic, and empathetic, and a great technical problem solver
  • Have a strong understanding of modern HTML & CSS features and usage
  • Are comfortable programming in JavaScript
  • Have a strong understanding of front-end JavaScript frameworks such as React
  • Are comfortable using an advanced editor such as VS Code or SublimeText
  • Are comfortable using Git, GitHub, Google Docs, Sheets, and Drive
  • Have you have a positive attitude and a desire to help others
