So you’re thinking about taking a course at Juno, and now it’s time to talk money. This can be an uncomfortable topic for some people, but at Juno, we’re happy to be transparent. Let's talk about all the finances you should be considering before enrolling in a course at Juno.
Course fees
Continuing Education
Our Continuing Education courses are each $2,000 + HST. This includes all of our courses in both their part-time or accelerated formats, other than our Web Development Bootcamp. You can see our full course offerings here.
Bootcamps
Today our Web Development and Data Analytics Bootcamps are $12,995. There's no HST applied to Bootcamp tuition.
Financing Options
Income Share Agreements
In April 2019, Juno became the first school in Canada to offer Income Share Agreements as a financing option for our Bootcamp students.
With Juno's ISAs, you can pay less upfront for your Bootcamp education, and only pay us back once you’re making at least $50,000 per year.
Alumni Scholarships
Today, the most common learning path of successful Web Development Graduates is that of starting in our Web Development course to gain basic HTML and CSS skills, carrying on through our JavaScript course to get a foundational understaind of JavaScript, and continuing on to our Bootcamp to gain the skills needed to make a career change into Web Development.
We love to encourage and support students who want to begin and continue their education at Juno, and for that reason we offer various Alumni Scholarships to support students through this journey. Successful Web Development Bootcamp applicants who have taken our Web Development course will receive a $1,000 Alumni Scholarship off of their Bootcamp tuition and an additional $1,000 off for every additional Juno course they've taken.
This means that if you've taken both our Web Development and JavaScript courses, you get a total of $2,000 off your Bootcamp tuition if accepted.
OSAP
Private Career Colleges like Juno must meet certain Ministry requirements to be eligible for OSAP. Though our courses do not currently meet those requirements, we are exploring the steps we can take to make OSAP a possibility for Juno students in the future.
COJG Grant
If you’re set on taking a course at Juno but don’t currently have the funds to make it happen, there are a few things we can suggest. The first is the Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG). This grant is offered by the government of Ontario to help companies level up their employees. If you think that a course at Juno might help you get a raise, receive a promotion, or simply do better at work, your employer can apply to receive this grant on your behalf.
If approved, your employer can pay as little 16% of the total cost of your Juno course and associated expenses, and the government will cover the rest. This grant is so popular amongst Juno part-time students that we’ve even created our own guide on how to apply to the COJG grant.
Personal Loans
If you’re employed and interested in taking a part-time course at Juno, we’ve also partnered with Borrowell, a Toronto-based company that offers personal loans to students enrolled in our part-time courses.
I took the full-time Web Development Immersive bootcamp in the Summer of 2016 and have been working as a front end developer for about 3 months now. It was definitely the most challenging thing I've put myself through and isn't for the faint of heart. That being said, it was also the most enjoyable learning experience I've ever had. On top of that, I got a full-time job in a month and a half and made some great friends so it was well worth the time and money. - Noah Endale, Summer 2016 Bootcamp Grad
When’s the money due?
When you enroll in a continuing education course, $1,000 plus a $250 registration fee, plus HST, is due immediately to hold your place in the course. We have maximum enrollment numbers to ensure we always have a great student to instructor ratio, so it’s important to secure your spot in the course as soon as you’ve decided on a session.
After you’ve secured your spot, the remaining balance is due in full two weeks before the course start date. Don’t worry - after meeting with someone from our Student Success Team, you’ll receive a letter of enrolment and details about all the course fees and due dates specific to you.
When you enroll in our Web Development Immersive Bootcamp, if you're paying your full tuition upfront, 50% of your tuition plus a $250 registration fee is due upon acceptance and the other 50% is due a month before the program begins. Cheques, e-transfers and wire transfers are all accepted forms of payment. If you're paying with an Income Share Agreement, you'll find out payment details from one of our Student Success Consultants.

Other costs
If you’re signing up for a course at Juno, there are a few other costs you should consider outside of course fees.
Transit
All of our courses are held in person at our offices at 483 and 485 Queen Street West, and coming to class in person is required. Whether that means you’ll be commuting on the TTC or driving and parking nearby, there is likely a cost involved, so make sure you factor transportation into your budget.
Food
We encourage our students to put self-care at the top of their priority list during all of our programs, so eating a nutritional meal that fuels you through class is important. Luckily you’ll have access to a full kitchen in the Juno space, and there are tons of healthy take-out spots nearby. Whether you’re planning to make your lunch or dinner ahead of time or pick something up on the go, food is definitely something you should factor into your budget!
Tech
For every Juno course, having a laptop is required. Though it can be a Mac or PC, it is necessary that you have one to bring to class so that you can participate, follow along with lessons, and complete exercises and projects.
If you don’t have a laptop to use, we do have a limited number of laptops that are available for rental (you can email info@junocollege.com for prices and availability).
Other than the laptop itself, other tech costs vary per course. If you are taking our UX Design course, it is required that you purchase a Sketch license ($99) so that you can use the design program during class.
If you are taking our Web Development Immersive Bootcamp, you will be required during the course to purchase a domain name ($10/year), web hosting ($100/year) and a portfolio PSD design (~$10). These three elements are required so that you can build your website and get it online to showcase your work to potential employers once the bootcamp has ended.
I was a little bit nervous about financing the program at first, particularly since I have lots of student loan debt from my previous education. However, the results for my career made it completely worth taking out the loan. I have a great job as a web developer, and I'm super excited about all the opportunities for career growth that are available to me now. - Meghan Sterling, Spring 2018 Bootcamp Grad
Employment
If you’re taking a Juno course on the weekend or in the evening, you can definitely continue your part-time or full-time job during the course. There are six in-class hours per week, and at least one project in every course. Though you will have to do a bit of time management to fit our courses into your weekly schedule, it’s definitely doable to maintain a full-time job and take our courses part-time, and in fact, that’s what most of our part-time students do. This means that you can keep working and don’t need to factor the loss of any income into your budget.
If you’re taking our Bootcamp, it’s a different story. Since the program is full-time from 10am-6pm for nine weeks, plus additional out-of-class events and homework, we recommend making bootcamp your only commitment during this time. Since we offer extensive job support at the end of the Bootcamp to help you start your new career as a developer, most of our students quit their jobs shortly before day one.
In 2018, 25% of our Bootcamp students found a job within 30 days of graduation, and 71% found a job within 90 days. This means that you need to budget for time spent away from work during the course, plus time spent job seeking afterwards, so you can be sure to have the funds set aside to get you through this period.
However, the fact that the average salary of a Juno grad in their first job after Bootcamp was $54,449 in 2018 makes it easy to understand why a career change like this is worth it! If you want to know more about how Juno students do after graduation, you can download our Student Outcomes Report.
