No coding experience? No problem.
Prerequisite coding skills are no longer required to change careers with Juno College’s award-winning Web Development Bootcamp. Juno’s CEO & Founder Heather Payne shares more about this exciting update below!
Since starting Juno College 10 years ago in 2012, it was always our mission to make a tech education accessible for everyone — especially for those underrepresented in the tech industry. We’ve helped over 1,300 Bootcamp students launch their careers, and I couldn’t be prouder of their success.
As Canada’s longest-running Bootcamp, our program has evolved over the years — after all, we’re always looking for ways to stay on top of best practices in both tech and education, and support our community’s unique needs. What initially started as a course for those looking to become freelance developers grew into a full-time vocational program certified by the Ontario Ministry of Education. We later developed a Career Pathway model, which guided our students through our part-time coding courses so they could gain the prerequisite skills needed to join our career-changing Bootcamp.
While this Career Pathway model worked for many grads who are now happily settled in their tech careers, the time commitment (a minimum of 17 weeks) wasn’t ideal for everyone — and like I mentioned earlier, it’s our mission to make tech more accessible. So, we’re doing what we always do: listen to our community, improve, and iterate.
That’s why starting today, Juno College’s Web Development Bootcamp is beginner-friendly: no coding experience needed to apply!
We know that changing careers is a big decision, and that’s why we’re here to make it as simple (and fun!) as possible. Whether you’ve dabbled with HTML & CSS on your myspace/Neopets/tumblr page, or you’re an absolute beginner who hasn’t written a line of code, you can kickstart your new career in tech with our Web Development Bootcamp.
With our shift to a beginner-friendly Bootcamp and our recent launch of our Part-Time Web Development Bootcamp for career changers with busy schedules, we’re so excited to make our programs more accessible than ever before. We can’t wait to see you in our classrooms, whether Live Online or In-Person in Toronto (that’s right, our In-Person Bootcamps are back starting on February 27, 2023)!
So, what are the nitty-gritty details of beginner-friendly Web Development Bootcamp? Check them out below!

What’s changing in Juno’s programs?
1. Bootcamp Duration
All remaining 2022 Bootcamp sessions will remain the same length, with a Web Development course added right before each Bootcamp:
- Full-Time Bootcamps will remain 12 weeks in 2022, with a 2-week Accelerated Web Development course added right before each Bootcamp, creating a 14-week experience for those students
- Our Part-Time Bootcamp starting on November 22nd, 2022 will remain 32 weeks, with students taking a Web Development course of their choice right before Bootcamp (available sessions starting on September 6th, 12th, and 19th, and October 4th)
Starting in 2023, our Full-Time Bootcamp will be 13 weeks, and our Part-Time Bootcamp will be 38 weeks. There will be no need to take a Web Development course in advance. This additional in-class time will integrate foundational HTML & CSS knowledge into the curriculum.
2. Bootcamp Admission Requirements
As of today, no prerequisite coding experience is required to be admitted to our Bootcamp. Before this announcement, our Web Development Bootcamp applicants needed to successfully pass a Tech Challenge demonstrating their knowledge of HTML, CSS, and responsive design. We’ve revised our Tech Challenge to be a General Aptitude Test designed to test for problem-solving skills, general computer literacy, and other general aptitudes.
3. Bootcamp Tuition
Starting in 2023, our Bootcamp tuition will increase from $12,995 to $13,995 CAD. This is to reflect our curriculum change that will include additional in-class time for our HTML & CSS foundations learning modules.
For those applying to our Bootcamps in 2023 and onward, you’ll receive a $1,000 Alumni Scholarship per Continuing Education course taken with us.
For those applying to our remaining Bootcamp sessions in 2022 who have already taken our part-time Web Development and/or JavaScript course, our existing scholarship programs will remain in place:
- If you've taken our Web Development course, you'll receive a $1,000 Bootcamp scholarship
- If you've taken our JavaScript course, you'll receive a $1,750 Bootcamp scholarship
- If you've taken both Web Development and JavaScript courses, you’ll receive a $2,750 Bootcamp scholarship
- You’ll receive a $1,000 Alumni Scholarship per additional Continuing Education course taken with us (i.e. UX Design or Data Analytics)
We continue to be one of the most affordable Bootcamp programs in Canada, with some of the most innovative, flexible financing options available such as payment plans, scholarships, and our Income Share Agreements program that lets you pay less upfront for Bootcamp, and only pay us back once you’re making $50,000/year in your new job!
