About This Position

Though 2020 has certainly gone differently than we expected it to, at Juno, we remain focused on our purpose: helping young people get ahead. The impact of the COVID-19 crisis on young people has been enormous, and more than ever, young people are going to need us to help them discover web development and or make a career change through our Bootcamp program.

That’s where you come in. We’re looking for a strategic, client-centred, process-driven and detail-oriented Manager of Admissions to join the Juno team.

In this role, you'll be ultimately responsible for Juno's Admissions strategy for all vocational programs by ensuring that we are admitting people to our programs who are going to add to the Juno community and get great outcomes (aka job placements) after graduating. We aim to take a data-driven and inclusive approach to admissions, so we are looking for someone with strong opinions about Admissions best practices, comfort with the prospect of using data to analyze our Admissions strategy, as well as a strong attention to detail and obsession with client service, so that every single applicant feels they were treated fairly and respectfully.

You’ll start out by being responsible for admissions to Juno’s highly rated Web Development Immersive Bootcamp Program, an intense nine-week program that helps relative beginners to coding to become professional web developers, and your role and team will grow as we expand into new vocational programs to be launched in 2021.

Day to day, you’ll consider the relevant data points from applicants and make decisions about who to admit to our program, providing feedback to successful applicants as well as those who don’t quite make the cut, so that they can have the opportunity to improve. Sometimes it takes people a few tries to be admitted to our program, and that’s totally okay! Feedback plays an important role in ensuring everyone who should be at Juno ends up joining us.

It's critical that you are very curious about people. We'll look to you to be regularly gathering feedback about students during the program as well as during the job seeking phase, so that we can continually hone our understanding of what makes a great Juno student. You'll work closely with our Programs and Outcomes team to ensure you're getting feedback about students regularly.

We are the only school in Canada to offer Income Share Agreements, and recently we introduced Pay-What-You-Can Income Share Agreements, where an applicant can pay an amount of their choosing upfront, paying the rest once they land a job making at least $50,000.

You’ll be responsible for administering Income Share Agreement funds, ensuring that the budgeted amount is distributed to each cohort and that disbursements are inclusive and equitable. You’ll also manage our scholarship program, where we offer scholarships to those in financial need, as well as to groups underrepresented in our learning community.

We are looking for someone with Admissions experience for this role, ideally with experience when it comes to setting an Admissions strategy. Alternatively, we would like to see significant evidence of your knowledge, experience and passion around Admissions best practices, based on other experiences you've had. We’ll leave it to you to prove that you have some experience or thoughts around Admissions if you choose to apply.
