As you may already know, making a tech education available to a wider, more diverse audience has always been our mission at Juno. That’s why we offer our courses in both In-Person and Live Online formats - while both formats have the same content, same instructors, and same real-time support, we know that everyone’s learning styles and preferences are unique. We’ve met students who love learning from the comfort of their home, and other students who treasure the act of learning in a classroom.
But how do you know which learning experience is right for you? It’s important to understand how you personally learn best, and be comfortable with the format you choose. Both formats have their own perks, so here’s a quick rundown that can help you make your decision:
Advantages to Live Online Learning
When taking our Live Online courses, you’ll be saving on the time and energy it takes to commute to and from class, freeing up more space for learning and relaxing. While some people love commuting because it gives them time to read or listen to podcasts, others appreciate not having to worry about rush hour traffic or subway delays.
Live Online learning also offers more flexibility, making our classes accessible to more people. For some, time saved on a commute means the difference between being able to fit a course in their schedule, and not being able to. Depending on where you’re located, taking our Live Online courses can also save on travel, accommodations, and food budgets that you may have had to consider when taking In-Person courses at our downtown Toronto campus. While our campus is centrally located along major transit lines, making the commute more attractive, it’s also surrounded by lots of tempting food options! Factoring in the cost of your dinner or a break-time coffee is important when considering which learning format is best for you.
Learn From Any Location
We pride ourselves on being an award-winning, registered Private Career College in Canada. While many of our students have traveled from far away to come study at our downtown Toronto campus, expanding our offerings into virtual classrooms means that anyone can take our courses, from anywhere in the world. Whether you’re setting up your workspace at a desk or a couch, and learning with us from around the corner or across the world, we’re thrilled to foster a global community of dedicated students.
If you're considering a remote career or working as a freelancer, online courses are the perfect way to practice working from home. Though our Live Online courses still offer lots of hands-on exercises and opportunities for collaboration, they're also a great way to improve skills like self-discipline and time management. No matter what industry you’re in, these traits will make you shine through your resume, and at work!
Advantages of In-Person Learning
Whether it’s housemates, pets, video games, or simply lack of dedicated work space, your home environment may not be an optimal learning space. If this is the case, you may find your learning style thrives in a more traditional, In-Person classroom environment where you can focus with less distractions. Juno’s campus is centrally located in the heart of downtown Toronto, and is easily accessible along major transit lines.
While both In-Person and Live Online formats offer ample opportunities for socializing, networking, and connecting, we know that for some people, the face-to-face element of socializing is very important for their learning and building meaningful relationships. Those who freelance or work from home during the day may be especially interested in In-Person learning to change up scenery day-to-day.
Access to Resources
If you don’t have a reliable internet connection at home or access to a computer to use during class or for homework, our In-Person courses might be the best option for you. Juno’s whole campus is equipped with high-speed wifi, and we also offer a limited number of Macbooks for rent for our students.
When it comes down to choosing a course format, the important thing to know is that Juno’s In-Person and Live Online courses have the same great components, simply delivered in different formats. At the end of the day, knowing which learning style will work best for you and your needs is the most important factor.
